‘YuvaSakthi’ unit had begun its operation officially in Kuravilangad on 3^rd July 1975. The first director was Fr.Sebastian Alapattukunnel and the first president was Shri M.S Emmanuel Muttapilly. Kuravilangad K.C.Y.M unit has been celebrating its coral jubilee in the year 2009-2010. From 2011 onwards Kuravilangad K.C.Y.M unit is being headed by Rev. Fr. Mathew Ennackappallil.

The Holy Bible is a living reality. It gives life and enriches it. Biblical Verses and the Holy Bible are the treasure trove of the church. The fundamental aspects related to the church are given to the folks through the Holy Bible. The modern technological know- how’s are not a deterrent but a possibility in disseminating the good news all throughout the world. Here lies the importance of two cardinal document s issued by the Pontifical Council titled “Church and Internet’’ and morality of Internet’’ on 22^nd February 2002 for the sake of Social Interactive Media Networks. K.C.Y.M Kuravilangad Unit always travels with the time and thinks beyond time. The entry into the Website is a forward thrust due to the very fact that K.C.Y.M is the Holy Bible of consolidated heart, mind, spirit, soul and liver. Let all of us always have the protection of the sacred heart and the intercession of the immaculate heart.

K.C.Y.M Kuravilangad unit envisages certain plans which are firmly based upon biblical values and the official teachings of the church. K.C.Y.M’s activities are mantled based on the five things inherent in a book written by John Paul II titled ‘laybelievers‘as guide lines for the smooth functioning of the organization. The above mentioned five things are as follows.

1. The importance given to the call for becoming saintly.

2. The willingness to uphold catholic faith

3. The importance given to the community. Oriented attitude of the church (unity in the church) (cooperativestance of  the church)

4. The cooperation shown for the spread of good news.

5. The interests shown in social matters.

The unit always strives hard to fulfill its responsibilities using the above mentioned aspect as the foundation of its activities.

1.The adaptation of simplicity in the working style by avoiding complicated working style or functioning of the  organization.

2.Acquisition of trust.

3.The absolute services of each and every member must be  ensured.

4.Unity through prayer must be strengthened.

5.Avoidance of long delay in relation to activities

These fundamentals principles must be kept intact prior to each and every programme of KCYM.

          K.C.Y.M is engaged in activities for bringing upliftment to the spiritual, material, social, artistic and cultural fields of Kerala through which Kerala ‘Catholic’ Youth Organization can lend a moral sense to these areas of operation.
